JOB CALL: Illustrator wanted for Jazz-based children's book
Local jazz music foundation BuckingJam Palace is looking to find an illustrator for an upcoming children's book all about sound and jazz music. Apply by July 15, 2025. Details below!
About the Project: Illustrations for a children’s sound book about jazz music. The book measures 15.8 cm X 17. 3 cm. Illustrations required are front and back cover (15.8 X 17.3 cm) and six double-page illustrations (31.6 cm X 17.3 cm), plus illustrated spine (1.7 cm X 17.3 cm). Looking for an art style that features bright, colourful, and fairly simple designs.
Payment/compensation: $5000 for the project.
Length of contract: 3 months
Starting date of contract: August 1, 2025
Description of duties for contract: Confer with non-profit artistic director about vision for the project. Create preliminary sketch for approval. Deliver illustrations in physical and digital format, ready to submit to manufacturer.
Skill/technology requirements: Drawing skills and ability to digitize illustrations for publication.
